Wesak festival in my village

This month we remember our great teacher supreme Buddha. Wesak full moon poya day we celebrate his birth, enlightenment and we remember his mahaparinirvana. These three incidents were happen in wesak full moon poya day. These three incidents are called “Themagula”.

People in my village organized a “dansala” near our temple.

We went temple at night and attended a “bodhi pooja”.

We also lit wesak lanterns at home.

Happy Sinhala Hindu new Year..............!

Tomorrow is the new year of Sinhalese and Hindus in Sri Lanka.  People celebrate it from the ancient times. They prepare special foods like kavum, kokis, aluwaa, welithalapa things like that.

People organize New Year festivals. There are various sports at New Year festival.

 This is happy time period for sri lankan kids also. Because they got permission to play from parents than other days. The environment is also become beautiful. Because of this is spring in Sri lanka.  You can read more about Sinhalese New Year from here. 

The rat became an ant

Sagara alias “Anton” and Maduranga alias “Mosquito” are my neighbors. They and another three are living that boarding place. Others are Udara alias “Tin Tin”, Niroshan alias “Public” and Chamika alias “Quarry”.

One fine day there was a rat died at their boarding place. Therefore there was a bad smell everywhere. It’s near Anton’s room than others. After he spread perfume all over the room.

But he was unable to sustain it further.

So he told story to Mosquito. The Mosquito agree with him to find the dead rat.  

Anton was very happy.

But Anton saw Mosquito was dressing to depart somewhere.

“Hey man, where are you going to go?” he asked.

“I’m going to meet my girlfriend” Mosquito replied.

“Can’t you help me?” that’s Anton.

“I’ll come soon. Wait for an hour” said Mosquito and ran away.

Anton had nothing to do. Therefore he told the situation to other three guys who are in the boarding place. But the way he told is somewhat different than the previous one.

“Hey guys, there is a bad smell from outside, isn’t there?” he asked.

Public and Tin Tin acted as deaf. After Quarry asked “No man, from where that bad smell comes?”

Anton was angry and said “haven’t three of you noses. If elephant died at here you’ll sit like this. Idiots”

“Ok we’ll come to find it” Public told.

After several minutes Anton came quickly to others and said “One of my friend called me, it is an emergency. Therefore I have to go. Please find that”

He departed from boarding place and others got angry. They stayed with playing cricket at garden because of the bad smell didn’t spread to their rooms.

Other two guys came to boarding at night. When Anton just came to room he smelled that.

He came to Tin Tin and asked “Didn’t you find that, what were you doing?”    

Tin Tin laughed and told “There was an ant died at your room and we cremated it”

Another mishap to me

That day was a one of a coolest day in my life. There was a cool surge coming from India.

I was also unable to take a bath previous day. Therefore I went to take a bath.

I started to take a bath, but there wasn’t water coming from shower. Then I realized the tank became empty, because my friend put switch to full the tank several minutes ago.  

“Oh dear what should I do now”

 I started to clean my body using soap until the tank become full.

After several minutes I started to bathe again, unfortunately my hope became null.

Therefore I had to wait several minutes again.

“What a cool wind is this” I told myself.   

It’s was a very bad feeling like a fish in without water.

“If I tell to my friend this he will bring a bucket of water for me. But after he may tell this to others” I thought.

Therefore I abode the cold.

After several minutes there was little amount of water came from the tap. So I washed my body quickly and came to the room.  

How to save Princess Marian

This story about the little son of my aunt. His  name is “Shashitha”. He is in grade 9 now and loves computer games. After I came to home he often calls me to come his home. Last year his elder brother brought a computer for him.

He wanted to install new games for his computer. Therefore I installed “Robin hood the legend of Sherwood” game.

As I think in its third level he should save Princess Marian.  After many tries he was unable to save her yet.  But today he called me asked “how to save Princess Marian”.

When I’m writing this post he saved the princess and now his effort is to save Little John.

Now he learned how to play this game.

Sometimes he will call me later.

He will teach to save the princess to our aunt today and his friends tomorrow.

This is the way to save the princess.

First you should tie Tuck and hide him at a room in the church. After send Robin to the cabin at the church. After the princess will come to there. But you should kill all the soldiers in the town.

After you can accompany the princess to Sherwood.

Three idiots

Pappu is one of my friend and Pandu also. One fine day we had to face for an exam. Therefore I and Pandu came to bus halt to go to the exam hall. Pappu was late. We decided to find what the reason of his late. But he came to the bus halt in minutes.  

He is the person who knows new exam hall. So we had to listen his silly talks. He said “buy a ticket for me, because I know the way to the exam hall” things like that.

After several minutes a bus came to the halt. We entered the bus quickly. After passing several bus stops I was get a seat. Pappu sat the one behind me and Pandu sat the corner seat.

After about half an hour pappu said that we should get down. Bus was full at that time. So we faced some difficulty to reach the door of bus. But we were unable to fine pandu. When we find him we saw another man was sitting his lap. He was unable to turn any side. Meanwhile bus stopped and I asked pappu about getting down there. But he said that he was unable to remember the exact bus stop which we should get down. I was little bit angry, but I abode because we are still in the bus.

He spoke like he is coming every day to this place. But he didn’t know the exact place. There were many people at the footboard. The conductor is also like pappu. He said “we stop the bus, because people at footboard”.

After passing two bus stops we had to get down. Pandu also was able to get down. “Oh dear! This fool pappu did a mistake. We should walk about 100 miters. Ten minutes to start the exam” pandu shouted.

Then pappu started to run and we followed him. After we were able to come the exam hall on time.

But pappu was missing. We were looking him while sitting. After about five minutes he came to the exam hall.

After the exam we had to chance to reveal the reason of his missing. He wanted to answer the call of nature and it was hurry. Therefore he hadn’t time to tell us.
